Fantastic! WOW!

I selected this book as a member of the Amazon Vine program – I’m glad I did! Some names, circumstances and places have been fictionalized by author Marisa Lankester –likely for the ongoing safety of those chronicled in this intense, tantalizing, page turning, memoir of the author’s life inside a mob affiliated sports betting operation.

This work is superbly written!!!

I usually read at night – and this book made for some late nights – as the pace, people and plot perpetuated my desire to keep reading into the wee hours.

The character development is splendid. The volume contains velocity, crisp/real dialog, intrigue, twists and turns that leave the reader guessing – and yearning for where the next chapter might take you.

There is tragedy in this book – and brutal, savage cruelty. Yet, the author’s ability to balance this with compassion is one of the strong points of the book…Lankester successfully immerses/submerges the reader into what is/was her life – her story.

I’m not going to reveal the plot, characters or ultimate outcome in this review…I despise it when reviewers do that. Dangerous Odds is simply a damn fine book!

If you have the opportunity to meet the author or hear her speak…GO!

I’d buy this book and I’d heartily recommend it to you!

This would be a great film or television series …

Dangerous Odds by Marisa Lankester…A solid bet! A WINNER! Buy this book!!!
