Bill, Your reviews and interviews are "state of the art"--really tremendous. I am an author of several books and am working on my 41st re. the state and fate of the Christian ministry.
I'd love to talk to you and have you preview my current effort.
We live in Shasta County, CA about 2 hours south of Oregon.
May I have your email address, phone number, etc.?

Thanks for this review/interview. The Burton quote alone made it a worthwhile read. I lived with, was raised by a man who was always right. I'm raising a daughter who also thinks she is. It's perplexing and full of heartache on both counts.

Great review. And great writing, I love this:

"It’s a profoundly challenging story to tell, particularly if the story-teller cares deeply about the individuals and organizations involved, as Diana Butler-Bass clearly does. The task is even more daunting for the story-teller when many of the subjects of this tale are asleep in the comfort of their smug self-righteousness; whose primary desire is to remain undisturbed"

Can I get an Amen from the missional section of the choir?

I've long been a fan of hers and I keep looking for this one at the bookstore (trying to avoid amazon.com) but I may have to break down and order it online. Thanks for a review that captures such critical insights and makes me want to go out and read this thing even more.

You're welcome.

And thank you. Not only do you understand my story, but you get my intentions. That is a wonderful gift from reviewer to author. Pax.

I was listening to an interview of William Shatner the other day -- at 80, that old coot is doing a one man show in something like 40 cities. Made me tired just listening and I'm 45. Another reminder/slap in the face/kick to get some exercise and appreciate this body I've been given. (maybe....)
